Interesting Experience!
In 2023 I attended the English course held by Catherina. I found it an interesting experience that definitely helped me improve my English level. In particular, I could work on the pronunciation and on the identification of the proper sounds of multiple worlds I was struggling with. Caterina is a good teacher that always pays attention to you during the lesson. She has a lot of patience and she cares about having a solid starting knowledge in order to master a high level of english in both writing and speaking.
Nel 2023 ho frequentato il corso di inglese tenuto da Catherina. Ho trovato che fosse un’interessante esperienza che mi ha definitivamente aiutato a migliorare il mio livello di inglese. In particolare, ho potuto lavorare sulla pronuncia e sulla identificazione del corretto suono di molte parole con le quali ho sempre avuto difficoltà. Catherina è un ottima insegnante che ti presta sempre attenzione durante la lezione. Ha molta pazienza e ritiene che sia importante avere solide conoscenze di base per poter padroneggiare la lingua inglee ad alto livello sia nello scritto che nel parlato.

Pleasant and productive!
Les cours d’anglais avec Catherine sont très agréables et très productifs. Chaque semaine j’ai 1h30 de cours d’anglais en cours collectif et à chaque cours nous révisons une nouvelle forme grammaticale tout en faisant des exercices à l’oral. Grâce à ces exercices oraux nous discutons beaucoup ce qui nous permet de pratiquer notre oral tout en se faisant corriger par Catherine. Cela nous permet aussi de mieux apprendre à se connaître et d’échanger à propos de nombreux sujets. Etant donné que nous venons de pays différents il n’y a aucun jugement sur les fautes d’anglais que l’on peut faire et les discussions sont d’autant plus intéressantes. Si vous cherchez à améliorer votre anglais et plus particulièrement votre oral je ne peux donc que vous recommander les cours collectifs avec Catherine !
English lessons with Catherine are very pleasant and productive. Every week I have 1.5 hours of English lessons with some colleagues and for each lesson we study a new grammatical form and we do oral exercises. Thanks to these oral exercises, we talk a lot, which allows us to practice our oral skills and to be corrected by Catherine. It also allows us to know each other better and speak about many subjects. As we all come from different countries, there’s no judgment about the English mistakes we can make, and it makes the discussions more interesting. If you’re looking for a way to improve your English, especially your English speaking, I recommend you group lessons with Catherine !

Extremely patient and helpful
Fantastic, friendly, available and extremely patient teacher. I first had lessons with Catherina in Sicily when I was only 3 years old, I used to love her lessons ! I stopped when she left in 2016 and started taking lessons again on-line 2 years ago. She helped me a lot to make me love English, changing the boring and stressful English lesson to an interesting and educational experience. She is alway interested and worried about the mood of her students, just like like an Italian mother. As a teacher she is well prepared and she always knows the way to explain things you don’t understand.
Insegnante stupenda, simpatica, sempre disponibile e molto paziente. Ha fatto lezioni con Catherina per la prima volta in Sicilia quando avevo solo 3 anni. Da bambino amavo molto le sue lezioni. Ho smesso quando se ne è andata nel 2016 ed ho ripreso fare lezioni on-line 2 anni fa. Mi ha aiutato moltissimo ad appassionarmi subito dell’inglese, trasformando l’ora noiosa e stressante d’inglese ad un momento interessante e formativo. È sempre interessata e preoccupate dello stato d’animo dei suoi alunni, come una mamma! Come insegnante è molto preparata e sa sempre come spiegare bene gli argomenti quando non lo hai capito.

Catherine is a very professional teacher
As a beginner in learning Dutch, a lot of things are difficult and are new to me. However, Catherine is a great and very professional teacher. She is very patient and she takes the time to explain and answer any questions I have. Learning with her is fun, relaxing and comfortable. I would highly recommend her to students who are taking Dutch language classes in school and to those who are learning on their own like me!
Bilang isang baguhan sa pag-aaral ng Dutch, maraming bagay ang mahirap at bago sa akin. Gayunpaman, si Catherine ay isang mahusay at napakapropesyonal na guro. Napakatiyaga niya at naglalaan siya ng oras upang ipaliwanag at sagutin ang anumang mga katanungan ko. Ang pag-aaral kasama niya ay masaya, nakakarelaks at komportable. Lubos kong nirerekomenda siya sa mga mag-aaral na kumukuha ng klase ng wikang Dutch sa paaralan at sa mga nagsasariling aral tulad ko!

Catherine is very supportive
I have been taking private lessons with Catherine since October 2022.
I am not particularly good at speaking or listening to English so I thought it would be difficult to learn English in English. However, she teaches me patiently so I can enjoy learning English without being nervous. Catherine is very supportive therefore I recommend this school to Japanese people. Also, her cat Baloo is really cute and it always comforts me!
Catherine is a highly qualified teacher. Due to her experience, she knows how to identify your weaknesses to help you improve. She is a staunch defender of British English and she forces you to avoid using American English
The materials she uses are Oxford books that you must purchase on your own.After more than a year with her I feel more confident to talk about everyday topics and I have noticed that my fluency has improved.
Catherine es una profesora altamente cualificada. Debido a su experiencia sabe identificar tus debilidades para ayudarte a mejorar. Es fiel defensora del ingles británico y te fuerza a evitar el uso del inglés americano.
Los materiales que usa son libros de Oxford que debes adquirir por tu cuenta.Después de más de un año con ella me siento más seguro para hablar de temas cotidianos y he notado que he mejorado mi fluidez.

Very professional, very patient and very dedicated
I met Wien through a friend and immediately felt close to talk to her all night long. Once I decided to learn Dutch, there was no doubt for me to start learning it with Wien. Very professional, very patient (it is difficult to learn Dutch ;)) and very dedicated to her students. It was really nice to come to Maastricht all the way from Eindhoven to learn Dutch. The classes went very efficiently and she focused a lot on my pronunciation – which is the best part of having a private teacher. Dank je wel, Wien 😉

I passed two very difficult ‘staatsexamen II’
I have been taking one-to-one lessons with Wien since December 2018. During her lessons you get more attention than you would in large language classes. I have more time now to concentrate on my Dutch studies and I have improved a lot since I started. Her lessons are based on her many years experience as a language teacher. Thanks to her lessons I passed two very difficult ‘staatsexamen II’ which I prepared for with her. I would highly recommend her lessons to you. Good luck!

After the first lesson, she easily noticed my weak points
Catherine is a great teacher. I contacted her to have some classes to improve my English skills. After the first lesson, she easily noticed my language level and my weak points; after that, she helped me to remember the main grammar rules. During our lessons, we touched also the other areas – speaking, reading, listening. Every lesson, in our discussions, we changed impressions about different subjects; those conversations gave me more confidence to use English in my daily activities. Reading and listening were also a good way to learn new things and, in the same time, to develop the ability of paying attention for what you read or hear. The materials used by her were structured very well and it helped us to keep our focus on a main subject every lesson. I highly recommend Catherine to everyone who wants to learn/improve his foreign language.

Wien/ Catherine è un’insegnante molto simpatica, attenta e completa. Puntuale, precisa e allo stesso tempo flessibile alle esigenze personali. Mi sono trovata estremamente in sintonia con lei sin dalla prima lezione. Oltre all’Olandese, l’Inglese ed il Francese, sa parlare molto bene anche l’Italiano ed è quindi in grado di spiegare e tradurre, all’occorrenza, determinate parole e/o espressioni facendoti cogliere anche le più dettagliate sfumature.

Wien is the best teacher
I believe Wien is the best teacher that I have ever met.
First, she is very good at evaluating students’ strengths and weaknesses correctly, and offering solutions to the weakness. When I met her for consulting at first, she instantly found out which part I had weaknesses in and what I should practice to improve my English skills.
Second, she is a very experienced English teacher. She has been helping me to improve my speaking skill by selecting good textbooks and efficient teaching skills suited for me, so lately I have started to gain some confidence.
Finally, I think she is kind and devoted to teaching languages. She really makes me feel comfortable during our English classes, and enjoys teaching. So, if you learn English from her, you will not be bored, but get interested in and enjoy English gradually.
I hope you also will make great progress in your English skills with Wien.

Her lessons are interesting
I take Dutch private lessons from Catherine. She is a very experienced teacher. She knows typical mistakes made by learners of Dutch and can explain complicated issues very well. Her lessons are interesting so it is easy to keep the motivation. I highly recommend her.
